ABOUT MARIA

​Photography has always been my passion.  From my very first darkroom class in high school, I was hooked. The magic of my image appearing through the developer in the darkroom grabbed a hold of me, and I knew this was what I was going to do.  I began photographing children and families, and soon after started photographing weddings.  My love for the amazing families and couples that I work with, and the joy of image making drive me to always continue learning my craft and refining my style.  I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with my BFA in photography, and still continue to educate myself through the Professional Photographers of America, where I've become a Certified Professional Photographer, earned my Master of Photography degree and my Photographic Craftsman degree ,and continue to learn from my peers and mentors.

My philosophy on photographing comes from a place of love.  I truly love the people I work with, and I am so blessed to have them!  The relationships that I've made with my clients keep me going, warm my heart, and are the number one reason that I LOVE being a portrait and wedding photographer.

When it comes to decorating your home with photography, I want to take the time to plan our session together.  From choosing appropriate clothing, photography location, all the way to choosing your wall art, I'm there with you every step of the way to make the process as fun and easy as possible.  At the end, you will have a custom piece of framed art that you will be proud to showcase in your home and will be an heirloom for years to come.
